  • Bible sales up due to Covid-19: Christian publishers are reporting increased sales of Bibles during the coronavirus pandemic compared with the same period last year. Read more here.

World Scene

  • 75 years since Bergen-Belsen liberated: This week marks a milestone anniversary since British forces liberated the infamous German concentration camp where 50,000, mostly Jews, lost their lives. Read more here.
  • Polish pro-life bill comes to Parliament: A citizen’s bill seeking to outlaw the abortion of disabled babies has reached the Polish Parliament – but any further progress is expected to be stalled. Read more here.
  • Trump freezes WHO funding: Blaming the World Health Organisation for trafficking in misinformation about coronavirus, the US President announced a review of US funding of the organisation.   • ‘Contact tracing’ apps in-development: Google and Apple are joining forces to develop ways of tracking people infected with Covid-19 using their phones. Read more here. The UK Government has announced plans to develop a similar app. Read more here.
  • Samaritan’s Purse field hospital under attack: A temporary hospital in New York run by Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse is coming under fire from LGBTQ+ activists because the charity holds to a biblical concept of marriage. Read more here.

Israel & Middle East

  • Israel fails to form unity government: Unity talks between Netanyahu’s Likud and Benny Gantz’s Blue and White Party have fallen through. If the Israeli Knesset cannot form a government within 21 days, the nation will go to the polls for the fourth consecutive time. Read more here.
  • Israeli economy to gradually reopen: The Israeli Government has announced an 80-billion-shekel plan to restart the nation’s economy, although normal flights will not resume until September. Read more here and here.
