The book traces the role of politics and religion in the vast culture changes that have taken place in Britain in the past 50 years. It has a chapter on each of the last four Archbishops of Canterbury: Dr Donald Coggan, Dr Robert Runcie, Dr George Carey and Dr Rowan Williams, covering the period from 1975 to 2012.
