“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie; That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2 Thess 2:11-12)
Anyone who believes that harmony can prevail in diversity should pay careful attention not only to the words of God in the Holy Bible but also to general experience and to the laws of physics. Diverse peoples from diverse cultures, with diverse beliefs and customs, naturally have no other basic unifying factor other than their tendency to diversity, with pride in their individual versions of truth. The resulting tendency to chaos will create, according to the laws of physics, a sort of entropy. And the world’s way of dealing with that is by legislation and by nudging the population into inclusive ways of thinking.
Diversity
A large number of people these days have become unavailable for remunerative work. This has indeed produced a sort of entropy, with poor economic performance exacerbated by an agenda that encourages mixing peoples with different faiths and customs whilst suppressing diversity of mind and belief.
Cultures developed throughout many generations are being disrupted and changed. People are being manipulated through media and technology, including artificial intelligence, to agree with what is newly declared to be good and right, even declaring that males can be females and females can be males. Democracy has been taken over by politicians unable to see any way to govern other than to agree with elites who have calculated the details of how a New World Order should work.
A majority of people, notably students, are thus seduced into believing that compliance with these changes will bring peace and prosperity.
The worldwide Covid epidemic induced fear, and the world’s answer has been to trust the science administered by a body that has assumed worldwide authority. Dependence upon officially controlled health care systems, welfare, banking, and education has entrapped populations of diverse people into compliance. It is assumed that conformity will provide safety. A majority of people, notably students, are thus seduced into believing that compliance with these changes will bring peace and prosperity.
If talks and lectures by well-qualified academics are suspected to be politically incorrect, they are cancelled. Reading matter is similarly censored. Subtle prohibition of any expression of thinking deemed wrong is achieved by officially labelling it ‘conspiracy theory’ or ‘fake news’ or ‘abuse.’ Similar accusations were levelled against Jesus (John 8:48).
Nevertheless
Nevertheless, there are many who are disorientated due to the stresses of demanded change, and many who find their work intolerable through the constraint of having to avoid the exaggerated sensibilities of others. Many good people have lost their jobs. Mental health provision is in crisis. It is as though we are waiting for a leader to arise and bring peace with firm solutions.

The prophetic dream of Nebuchadnezzar, interpreted by Daniel and recorded in Daniel Chapter 2, about a large statue whose head was gold, whose chest and arms were silver, whose belly and thighs were bronze, whose legs were iron and whose feet were partly iron and partly of baked clay – describes a time like the one we are living in now: “And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture, and will not remain united any more than iron mixes with clay.”
Frustration
There is an underlying frustration (Rom 8:20) which hinders the ability of many individuals truly to be at ease in this diversity, and which gives rise to diverse expressions of rebellion. Different versions of truth and different interpretations of facts are the essence of diversity, and quite often one version will not readily be understood by another. A few people in their frustration call out in the name of Jesus to the Creator of the universe, God of Israel, and He saves them out of their trouble (Ps 107). But most people turn to other gods or trust their own reason. Diversity of faiths breeds wearisome disagreements and resentments because spiritual belief integrates the very soul of each individual – and you could describe it as politic to respect that fact. Although people may keep quiet about their deeply held beliefs, they persist.
Spiritual battle
Few seem to realise that the character of the god or gods under whose authority they knowingly or unknowingly have come (there is always spiritual influence) will be worked out and revealed through their lives, whether it be Jesus Christ, or the prince of this world, or the divine nature of man, or Allah, or Hindu gods, or Buddhist, or whomsoever. However, the authority of the Creator of the universe, Almighty God, excites the envy of other gods because He is the only living Being able to bring wholesome peace into diversity. Almighty God tells us that no one will find Him now except through Jesus Christ (John 14:6) since Jesus His only begotten Son was cancelled by crucifixion for admitting who He is - but rose from the dead.

Almighty God is the only One able to make those He saves to live at peace with their enemies (Prov 16:7). And He can break through all resistance and become Lord in people’s lives, no matter what their previous faith may have been – because His love, truth and saving grace bring peace beyond understanding. Everyone will experience Jesus’ authority for real when He returns to reign with His saints for a thousand years – which might be quite soon.
Cancellation
When I was working as a medical doctor, I began exploring roots of mental health problems and disease through psychoanalysis, which involved conversations bringing to light issues of thinking, emotion and significance that were under the surface. The idea was that if a person were safely to gain insight into ‘unconscious’ motivations, some healing might result from conscious adjustments. Because Jesus is alive in my life, however, I met challenges. A limited degree of insight would be accepted by my client, but we could go no further in our conversation because my client could not see the need. Such resistance usually seemed to me to come from a demonic stronghold in the patient. Unless the person would allow Jesus into that area, we could go no further because they could see no further.
I believe godly truth is cancelled because people are actually unable to perceive the need for it.
I believe godly truth is cancelled because people are actually unable to perceive the need for it. Jesus says, “Satan comes and takes away the word” (Mark 4:15). Such spiritual blindness is described by Paul, when he declares, ”I would not have known sin except through the Torah” (Rom 7:7) and “Messiah is the goal of Torah” (Rom 10:4). And in John Chapter 10, Jesus says it is His sheep who hear His voice. In consequence, the worldwide attempt to create a New World Order can be seen as the probable development of the powerful delusion spoken about in 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2.
King Jesus
If widespread strong delusion has come upon the world, God is allowing it to happen as prophesied, and the Christian response must surely be to reveal Jesus and His kingdom. When Jesus is truly revealed, His authority, with the authority of the word of God, will be upheld in thanksgiving, praise, worship, healing, deliverance and loving kindness without legalistic niceties (Ps 8; Matt 21:16). And those sinners who God is calling will come to be set free. It is time for the enemy to fear the Lord and His people (Ps 2:10-12; Prov 28:1). May the Lord help leaders to hold the fort in this respect!
