“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall” (Prov 16:18)

It is the end of June, the month now almost universally recognised as ‘Pride month’. Rainbows – six coloured ones, not the seven colours of God’s rainbow, and now frequently with extra colours and the transgender symbol – are everywhere; shops, businesses, schools, hospitals. I even saw one flying outside a police station.

A colleague of mine casually mentioned that his little boy had asked him: “Daddy, why do they need a month for Pride when we only take one day to remember the people who die in the wars?” Good question and wisdom from a child!

Stonewall riots

Of course, the USA makes more of ‘Pride’ than we do, and this detail perhaps tells us something about its roots. This year, President Biden made an official proclamation declaring June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex ‘Pride Month’. In it, he informed us that in June 1969 a group of ‘courageous’ Americans rose up to protest against the violence and marginalisation they had to face in their daily lives.

President Biden’s proclamation goes on to say that over 600 ‘hateful’ laws targeting the LGBTQI+ community have been introduced in the recent past.

This uprising became known as the ‘Stonewall riots’. I actually read about these events last year in Jonathan Cahn’s ‘Return of the Gods’ book. Having researched his points, I knew what the President’s proclamation didn’t tell us. The Stonewall bar was mafia owned and as such was regularly raided. It was a known trouble spot.

What happened that particular night was that several hundred so-called ‘courageous Americans’ turned on eight police officers. The officers were forced to take refuge in the Stonewall bar, barricading themselves in. The mob would not be placated, however, and did their best to get at the police, even attempting to burn the bar down. This is what Biden is calling good. Does he not know that the Bible says? “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil”(Isa 5:20)

Biden’s pro-Pride Declaration

President Biden’s proclamation goes on to say that over 600 ‘hateful’ laws targeting the LGBTQI+ community have been introduced in the recent past. Of course, the vast majority of these laws were not ‘hateful’ in the slightest, but were introduced, rather, to protect children at the request of anxious parents – e.g., from the injection of hormones, transition drugs, and the like. These, indeed, were the actions that brought about the closing of Britain’s Tavistock clinic.

Rather than being generally banned, these indecent publications are vigorously promoted.

Biden talks of books about LGBTQI+ people being ‘banned’. These, let us be aware, are the books placed in schools, libraries, public places, clubs etc that openly promote the sexualisation of children, and the performance of sex acts by, and upon, children – in other words, gross pornography. Rather than being generally banned, these indecent publications are vigorously promoted. In the UK we have efforts to introduce the same literature into school curricula, with a push to teach masturbation to children in their very earliest school years, a call for every child to have a sex partner, and so on.

To the mind of any right-thinking person, these books are indoctrination. Yet parents seeking to protect their children from such rampant sexuality are called homophobic, intolerant and evil.

War on family values

It was perhaps not out of character that the White House recently played host to a group of LGBTQI+ activists who misbehaved, exposing breasts and genitalia on the White House lawn, in front of adults, children and the TV-watching public alike.

President Biden’s announcement also stated that the LGBTQI+ youth in certain US states were being denied essential medical health care, by which he means hormone transitioning drugs, surgical sterilisation/castration and organ removal – all of which are generally available to youngsters without parental consent.

they are opposing the very Word of God, which teaches that people can be freed from all manner of sexual sin, through His mighty power.

Pride month is an open war on traditional family values, on children and on God. President Biden’s document states that his government is waging war on those who propose conversion therapy, thereby preventing the counselling of people seeking freedom from same sex attraction. It is apparent that they are opposing the very Word of God, which teaches that people can be freed from all manner of sexual sin, through His mighty power. This certainly seems to be part of the aim of Pride organisers who seek to declare the Bible illegal.

Biden also had the White House lit up in a six-colour rainbow. This aligned with President Biden’s ‘Respect of Marriage’ Act, which repealed the ‘Defence of Marriage’ Act voted for by President Biden in a former life, which recognised marriage as being between men and women.

Goddess of pride

Why do we celebrate pride, anyway, which the Bible tells us leads to destruction. And why June? What on earth could possess us to do such a thing?

Jesus said in Matthew 12, “When an unclean spirit comes out of a person, it travels through dry country seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says to itself, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house standing empty, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits, more evil than itself, and they come and live there — so that in the end, the person is worse off than he was before. This is how it will be for this wicked generation.”

Is it coincidental that Ishtar is known as the one who stole from other gods?

The ‘goddess’ Inanna/Ishtar/Astarte is the entity that Jonathan Cahn’s book calls ‘the Seductress’. Typified by the transformation of men into women and women into men, her priests and priestesses performed for the masses in acts of worship that were linked to a rainbow. Is it coincidental that Ishtar is known as the one who stole from other gods? Is it also coincidental that Ishtar was/is associated with Tamuz, the month which Jerome (an early Christian writer and Bible translator) identified as June. He also tells us that she was recognised as the goddess of pride, as well as parades, particularly ones that featured her priests dressed as females? This has all the hallmarks of spiritual warfare/rebellion.

Stand up, speak up, faith up

The Bible tells us that the poor souls engaged in Pride month are loved by God, and that parents worried sick about the indoctrination of the children entrusted to them by God are also deeply loved. Note my words, ‘entrusted to them’ (i.e. parents); not to schools, TV, social media or gaming.

Pride month issues a call to wave a flag that declares spiritual rebellion against God.

The seven-colour rainbow is a sign of God’s mercy – come to Him through Jesus who gave His life for us, whose blood cleanses us. If we want to lift something up, then let us lift up the name of Jesus – the One who saves us and the One who is truly worthy.

Stand up, speak up and ‘faith up’, brothers and sisters, because on the day of judgement we will not stand before social media ‘likes’, Facebook followers, public opinions or our Google reviews.

Rather, we will stand before Almighty God, the Holy One of Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The One who draws near to the humble and keeps His distance from the proud (1 Pet 5:5).
