Over Christmas, the family sat down for a TV supper to watch the new 'Golda' movie. It tells the story, in part, of the Yom Kippur War 1973, exactly 50 years to the day of the 7/10 massacre. More of this in a minute.
'Golden calf' moment
In my Emergency Briefing video on the Omega Programme YouTube channel, posted on 8th October, I listed a number of factors that contributed to the Gaza atrocity. I exposed President Biden's real agenda for the Middle East, i.e. to continue Obama’s policy of undermining Israel but empowering Iran.
I also suggested the potential suppression of intelligence of Hamas preparations, by some in Israel's liberal and anti-Zionist Intel community, whose aim was to embarrass Benjamin Netanyahu (as a result of the PM’s intention to clip the wings of the leftist Supreme Court). Not all Jews are Zionists! This has now been confirmed.
Finally, I pointed out this was a 'golden calf' moment for Israel, with a rave party, yards from the Gaza border, whose centrepiece was a giant Buddha statue, occurring on Simchat Torah, the final day of Tabernacles. Take away the disco music and replace modern with ancient attire, and place this at the foot of Sinai. You know what came next.
I asked the question: ‘Why would a Holy God not judge this the same way as He did in Exodus?', and, 'Was this rave party the final straw that caused the wrath of God to boil over on this holy day?' I commented to those close to me at that time that watching the appalling video of the events of 7/10 was almost exactly the same as you would have seen were you to have observed the invasions of Israel by Assyria in 700 BC, or by Babylon 586 BC and Rome’s destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD.
Israel’s watchmen, it has since been revealed, both at the Gaza fence and in the senior ranks of the Intel agencies, were asleep.
Only the technology differed. And please, think carefully - according to the many prophetic warnings for those events - Who sent these armies? And why? Read the blessings and curses that Israel signed up to in Leviticus 26. The ‘if … but if not’ statement here could not be clearer.
‘Golda’ warnings
Anyway, back to ‘Golda’. 
I felt a prompt in my spirit to ask if Almighty God had sent an alert, a reminder of Israel's complacency that brought about the Yom Kippur War of 1973. I can now say with certainty, ‘Yes, He did’, and it was ignored. Israel’s watchmen, it has since been revealed, both at the Gaza fence and in the senior ranks of the Intel agencies, were asleep.
The warnings highlighted in the movie show many parallels to 7/10:
- A huge failure of intelligence;
- The ignoring of a credible, imminent threat;
- Overconfidence (after Israel’s crushing victory in the 6-day war);
- Political pressure within and outside of Israel not to mobilise the IDF to destroy Hamas;
- An Israeli holy day.
America too, at that time heavily dependent on Arab oil, was extremely reluctant to help and every other Western nation sat on its hands as the casualties mounted and Israel was nearly destroyed. Once Israel gained the upper hand, the nations, led by America, imposed heavy pressure on its government to cease fire. Golda used the last ‘24 hours’ that Kissinger gave her, before fighting must cease, to place the IDF’s knife on the Egyptian army’s throat, resulting in their capitulation and surrender.
Now - run the clock forward to 7/10. Does this sound familiar?

God’s prophetic words
Released over the summer to great acclaim, its message was ignored. Our God is gracious and merciful. Prophetic warnings of destruction preceded the Babylonian invasion by nearly a century! History shows He repeatedly, graciously reminds us to heed His word, positioning His signposts, alerting His people - even at the last minute - to repent, take action, prepare. Note how many of today’s mega-ministries fail this simple, but obvious, 'Elijah' test, being popular, glitzy, lavishly-funded and acclaimed. Why? Because they tell people what they want to hear. Compare these with Isaiah, Jeremiah, Habakkuk, Obadiah and John the Baptist; how popular were they? Was their message received gladly? How did it end for them?
The fact that the majority in Israel ignored their warnings didn’t hinder Almighty God from acting. His methods never change. His people can’t complain: ‘but we weren’t warned!’ They were - they just weren’t paying attention. We must heed Psalm 123, one of the songs of ascents: ‘as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He has mercy on us’. Are you watching His nail-scarred hand?
Isaiah, Jeremiah, Habakkuk, Obadiah & John the Baptist - how popular were they? Was their message received gladly? How did it end for them?
This is the prophetic word. As always, Israel is God's billboard to a fallen world, the canary in the coal mine, the road sign, the early warning system for the Church. Like it or not, we are involved. Our job, our responsibility, is to comfort them. (Is 40.1)
Watch!
As an aside, I ride a motorcycle to the police standard, trained by a friend who is a retired police instructor. He is always drumming into me the three most important factors in riding: ‘Concentrate – concentrate – concentrate’. In prophetic terms ‘Watch! – watch! – WATCH!’ The idea in advanced riding is, having read all the information around you, always to be on the safest place on the road in order to make maximum progress possible.
Are you on the safest place on the Royal Highway, right now? Have you read the signs? How are you applying the information?
I’ll be blunt and state that the Church isn’t watching the road ahead. It is in grave danger of making the same mistake as Israel. We too have fallen very short of God’s standards and He does not treat His chosen peoples differently.
By their faithfulness
Alex Buchanan, for me, the greatest prophetic voice from Britain in my lifetime, once told me that God isn’t capable of two kinds of love. He loves us with the same love He loves His Son. The same is true for judgment. His standards are absolute. Judgment is at the door. Storm clouds are forming. Sin is sin. Repentance and humility are required.
...the Church isn’t watching the road ahead. It is in grave danger of making the same mistake as Israel.
It is time to take our place in the battleline. Your King demands it. If you desire the ministry of prophet you desire a good thing - but count the cost. God knows, we need you now.
There’s no room in the Kingdom for passengers or bystanders, nor those who bury their talent in the ground when things get tough, thinking Jesus asked something too demanding, too hard.
On the basis of God’s word, I can promise you things will get much harder. But we will move into the miraculous, and the ‘righteous shall survive by their faithfulness’, as Habakkuk wrote before the Babylonians arrived.
