Prophetic Forecast provides an overview of what is happening in both the world and the Church. Joshua Giles received strong impressions of a divine shaking that would manifest in the natural through storms and famines as a sign of God's judgment being released upon the wickedness of mankind. This book has been written to enable us to prepare for what is ahead.

Calling

Understandably, there is a lot of distrust of prophetic ministries these days, due to the counterfeit or misuse of the gifts of the Spirit. There are so many suspect or outright false prophets operating within the Church. We have a right to be wary of anyone who uses the ‘p’ word of themselves. But I’ve been following Joshua Giles for some time, and it appears to me that he has been raised up as an authentic prophet in our time.

Giles pastors a church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has a Masters degree in theological studies as well as degrees in business studies and Christian psychology. God apparently called him as a prophet from a very young age when he had dreams and visions pertaining to his family. When just 7, his church – admittedly, led by his parents – affirmed his calling. He has, since then, had many opportunities to prophesy to people all over America and beyond, including heads of government and other leaders. He claims that many of the words he prophesied have come to pass.

Credentials

In 2015, Joshua is said to have given a prophecy in his church about a rare virus that was man-made in a lab and which would come upon the world. It would be the first of many other pathogens that would affect the world in future days. In 2019, God gave Joshua a word concerning a major financial collapse that would start in 2020 and would affect every system of society. It would mark the beginning of a period of global economic decline. He saw in a vision a stock market crash that will shake the nations and will mark a period of severe famine, with crop failures and massive shortages of food, medicine, oil and gas. He spoke of ‘Issachar prophets’, who know the times and seasons, being raised up and knowing what God's remnant should do.

Different

Joshua does not take a salary from his church or offerings for his online videos. Instead, he receives his income from several businesses he felt led to inaugurate. He has bought several properties as well as farmland to grow crops to aid fellow believers in the coming famine. Like Joseph in the Old Testament, and Agabus in the New, Joshua is mobilising the Church to prepare for such times of austerity, when the ‘remnant’ must come together and pool resources to survive.

And that’s where Giles’ ministry differs from that of so many so-called ‘prophets’, who tend to pronounce nothing but blessing and prosperity to audiences eager for a positive ‘word’. Giles cuts right through this with a heady dose of reality, aware that things are certain to get tougher for both believer and non-believer in the days ahead.

Hardships

Giles believes, for example, that there will indeed come a spiritual famine in many churches, and more significance will be placed on believers’ homes, where God will develop safe havens for His remnant. Some believers will be raised up to manage their own farms and produce their own food, and others to own their own stores and businesses.

Joshua is mobilising the Church to prepare for such times of austerity, when the ‘remnant’ must come together and pool resources to survive.

Prophetic Forecast also covers the technological boom and the rise of AI, which will coincide with the persecution of the Church. Some technological advances will be used for the good of humanity, but some will be used for an antichrist system with stricter controls and more censoring. Christians will no longer be allowed to share their beliefs and values freely, yet there will come a mighty harvest, when believers will rise up to share the gospel through prophetic evangelism.

Giles refers to a ‘new kind of war’, which will engage with AI and will deploy nanotechnology and cyberwarfare as well as biochemicals and the use of pathogens. A secret league between Russia and China will bring disruption to the nations by targeting power grids and causing millions to be without power. For those already watching the signs of the times, this outcome looks very possible.

Authentic

At the end of each chapter, there is a segment called Prophetic Hope, which brings encouragement and helps the reader understand God's purpose for his personal life. Much of what Giles prophesies I heard from the Lord myself in my own dealings with Him, and Clifford Hill also covers much of this content in his books. The only drawback is that it takes a few readings to fully digest what is written.

Some might argue that, published as recently as 2022, many of the predictions contained in Prophetic Forecast are simply the result of astute observation, accessible to anyone who keeps a keen eye on developments in the world – and that they require little in the way of supernatural foresight. Others have expressed concern over seeming links to those within the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) – e.g., Patricia King, Sid Roth.

Personally, I find it interesting to note that a number of the insights contained within these pages have already been, or are currently being, fulfilled. In summary, I feel Prophetic Forecast – being both very practical and deeply spiritual – gives a comprehensive overview of the new era we have entered into and shows how we can prepare to work with God for His purposes on earth.
