While the story of military horses running amok in London city centre traffic on Wednesday was widely reported across mainstream media, the simultaneous occurrence of the hands of Big Ben freezing for more than an hour before sounding the wrong number of bongs at 10 am was much less publicised. Though the suggestion that these events signify 'dark omens' has been ridiculed by the media, some believers have highlighted the prophetic significance of such unusual and simultaneous occurrences.

Prophecy: April 2024

We refer readers to a prophetic word issued on Thursday by Chris Wickland, a prophet and pastor based in Fareham, Hampshire. The prophecy was received by him prior to the events in London on Wednesday and is not based directly on those occurrences.

Chris’s ‘word’ is based on Daniel 5:25-28, and the inscription “mene, mene, tekel, parsin”:

• Mene: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.
• Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.
• Peres: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.

It is an urgent word of warning, highlighting the significance of these verses - along with many recent 'natural signs' - for the Church today. Please listen carefully to this prophecy, and spend some time weighing it prayerfully before the Lord.

The prophecy is very much in line with prophetic words of warning issued in Prophecy Today over a great many years, of impending judgement coming upon the Church in this land, as well as upon the nation of Great Britain.

Prophecy: May 1986

In May 1986, Prophecy Today published a prophecy received by Lance Lambert at the Carmel gathering in Israel:

“It will not be long before there will come upon the world a time of unparalleled upheaval and turmoil. Do not fear for it is I the Lord who am shaking all things.… I will judge the nations and the time is near. It will not only be by war and civil war, but by anarchy and turmoil, and by monetary collapses that I will judge the nations, but also by natural disasters, by earthquakes, by shortages and famines, and by old and new plague diseases. I will also judge them by giving them over to their own ways, to lawlessness, to loveless selfishness, to delusion and to believing a lie, to false religion and an apostate church, even to a Christianity without me.”

Prophecy: May 1990

Exactly four years later, in May 1990, the founding editor of Prophecy Today, Dr Clifford Hill, issued the following statement of warning:

“The false prophets are filling the people with false hopes through crying ‘Peace, peace, when the Lord is saying there is no peace!’ There will be no revival in Britain without repentance, indeed revival will come! But it will not come until the breaking of the nation and the church. The revival will come out of the brokenness, and not before. The true word of the Lord is to prepare the people for the days of darkness that are coming, that at least a remnant may be able to withstand the testing days and take a firm stand against deception or compromise with the truth.”

Prophecy: January 2021

Numerous similar prophetic warnings have been published by Prophecy Today over subsequent years. More recently, in January 2021, during the Covid outbreak, David Noakes gave a prophecy in which he concluded:

“… if there is no repentance and turning to me, increasing disaster will come upon the nation. Sickness will continue and increase, natural disasters will multiply, your economy will collapse beyond recovery, and your enemies will rub their hands and take advantage of your utter helplessness.

My heart is in anguish for you, for I have loved your nation and I desire to show mercy and to bless you once again. I desire to restore my hand of protection to you, but not unless you will turn back to honouring me and repent of your sin of blood-guiltiness. Will you not, even at this late hour, turn back to me and be saved, for I long to show you my mercy and I shrink from allowing the terrible judgments which otherwise you will bring upon yourselves, reaping the results of all that you have sown.”

This ministry endorses the substance of the word given by Chris Wickland as being ‘of the Lord’, and believes that we are very close to seeing the fulfilment of this, along with other words of warning that this ministry has been proclaiming to the nations for several decades.
