Why Seek the Living Among the Dead? (Clifford Hill)

05 Dec 2024 General

This series is intended to encourage people to think about biblical truth. “Why seek the living among the dead?” This was the question put to the women disciples of Jesus on the Day of Resurrection when they came to anoint His body.

The good news proclaimed on the Day of Pentecost was that Jesus was not dead – he was alive! The resurrection changed everything. God had conquered death and 3000 people were baptised into the name of Jesus on that day when they found new life through receiving the Spirit of Jesus.

The central message of the Early Church in the Roman Empire was about resurrection and new life in Christ, yet today the central message of our churches is about death and crucifixion. The cross is the symbol of Christianity today, not the empty tomb. Why have we changed from life to death? That is what we are examining in this series of articles.
