  • Ban on abortion images upheld: A district judge has ruled that graphic images of aborted babies displayed in Walthamstow were rightfully banned, describing them as ‘horrific’. The ruling will be appealed. Read more here. Also this week, a London mum who was banned from offering pro-life support outside an abortion clinic in Ealing takes her case to the European Court, while a woman who regrets aborting her 23-week-old baby has filed a lawsuit against abortion providers, arguing that they need to inform women better.
  • Cornerstone adoption agency case in High Court: An evangelical Christian adoption agency is fighting to continue its work, as Ofsted charges it with discrimination and seeks to force it to drop its religious ethos. Read more here.
  • UK-US post-Brexit trade talks to begin next week: Talks to negotiate a post-Brexit free trade agreement between Britain and the USA will begin on Tuesday. Read more here.
  • MPs urge Boris to punish Israeli annexation: More than 150 MPs and peers have written to the Prime Minister urging him to sanction Israel if the planned annexation of parts of Judea and Samaria takes place. Read more here.

  • Pro-life rescue number receives record number of calls: A US pro-life hotline providing help for mothers who have started to abort their babies with pills but want to reverse the process has seen a considerable increase in calls during the Covid-19 lockdown. Read more here.
  • Trump, Pompeo blame Chinese lab for Covid-19: Both the President and the Secretary of State have pointed to the Wuhan Institute of Virology as the source of Covid-19. Read more here. According to the Gatestone Institute, China is using the pandemic to gain the upper hand in its trade war with the USA. Read more here.

  • Iran withdrawing from Syria? Israeli efforts to ward off Iranian aggression via proxy bases and military activity in Syria appear to be working, at least in the short term, as news comes that Iran is pulling troops out of the country. Read more here.
  • Israel’s new govt to be sworn in on 13 May: After the country’s High Court threw out eight petitions against Netanyahu and his coalition agreement with rival Benny Gantz, the way is now clear for the new administration to begin next week. Read more here.
  • Israel threatens to shut down God TV channel: A Hebrew-language offshoot of God TV broadcasting in Israel has been accused of proselytising and threatened with closure by Israeli authorities. Read more here and here.
