The mistaken notion that God is dead has caught on very widely. After two World Wars, which God permitted, many have become convinced that there is no God. Communists insist on it.1
Materialism
Herbert Marcuse told us, back in 19672, that the needs and satisfactions of advanced industrial society have a material basis which renders Judaeo-Christian faith obsolete in the minds of many people. So if we can see no further than the provision of our needs by science and technology, we shall probably assume that everything ultimately relates to the material world we live in. With a little esoteric help, we can then believe that mankind is the measure of all things, as declared by the classical Greek philosopher Protagoras 3000 years ago. And then it follows that mankind’s feelings and thoughts must be the source of all future possibilities.
The communism of Karl Marx had the effect of producing violent revolution in the hope of liberating people. The material circumstances, social organisation and means of production changed in various countries, but this failed to set people free. His ideas have since evolved in the face of worldwide trade, academic exchange, immigration, and mixing spiritual beliefs and cultures. Powerful groups of wealthy financiers, academics, liberals and socialists have now become convinced that the only way eventually to avoid oppression and war, and to liberate human potential, is to change culture everywhere by changing people’s minds and imposing a 'new view' of reality through ‘cultural’ communism with the help of technology and behavioural psychology.
Behaviourism is the science of psychological conditioning without appeal to belief, thoughts, or feelings. In other words, it is the science of how people can be subtly manipulated or brainwashed.

The Long March of cultural communists through all the institutions of civilisation began with Rudi Dutschke 19683, and it has been very successful. Its origins can be traced back to Mao Zedong, Gramsci, Marx, Hegel, Kant, and so on right back to the classical Greeks, who were the inheritors of the spirituality of Babylon4. In 2010 the British government set up the Behavioural Insights Team (the Nudge Unit) in order to apply behavioural science to public policy.
Nudge psychology
For many years manipulative psychology has been changing our beliefs and culture through mainstream media, educational establishments, politics, law, and religious institutions. It has worked in cahoots with the World Economic Forum, with secret international associations, with United Nations, and with non-Christian religions such as Brahma Kumaris University of Light (whose Hindu courses so many significant people have attended) and sometimes, although perhaps not always intentionally, in cahoots with Islamic jihad and other rebels.
The breakdown of traditional morality, with gay liberation, deconstruction of meanings and words, deceptions, rigged information, criticism denounced as hatred, vicious false accusations, the demand that we be woke, loss of the jobs of people of Christian integrity, hedonistic sorcery, gender fluidity, multiculturalism, net zero, lockdowns, social justice instead of godly justice, political control of medical services, eugenics, euthanasia, and debt that is impossible to repay, are all the products of nudge psychology.
This appears to be part of a 'new-world-order' agenda to destroy Christendom and other cultures by undermining them. I believe that out of the chaos an anti-Christ elite will then emerge to dominate through economics, healthcare, behaviourism and transhumanism, in the forlorn hope that mankind will thereby be liberated from every kind of slavery, and that equality, fraternity and the unique potential of every individual might then flourish.

Focus on Jesus
Yet there are many who cannot find the wherewithal to understand what is going on, and who get pressured and seduced into compliance and obedience by losing touch with true facts of reality. If they are unable to make true sense of what they seem to suffer they can become slaves to the natural reactions of their fallen human nature, such as resentment, self-pity, hopelessness, rejection, fear, rage, rebellion.
The Bible says we become slaves to whatever masters us (2 Pet 2:19). This sort of thing can actually make people more confused than they realise. Sometimes it can literally drive them mad. As a Christian mind-doctor, I have seen plenty of people like this. And I have enjoyed conversations with them in which truth has dawned - which can lead to understanding and repentance to set them free (John 8:32).
Similar work can be done in the light of Jesus by any Christian – there is no need for them to be mind-doctors. But secular treatment for mental health issues does not work like that. It operates by suppressing distressing reactions, which does not make them really go away. And a lot of very crazy behaviour is learned in its institutions through hopelessness5. Healing is available, however, for all those who call to God for help in the name of Jesus and heed what He says.

Repentance and faith
However, God is saying to those who claim to love the Lord Jesus:
- ”My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water” (Jer 2:13);
- “…don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred towards God?” (James 4:4b);
- “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you” (1 Pet 5:6-7),
- “Place me like a seal over your heart….for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave” (Song of Songs 8:6).
In order to fight the good fight, therefore, we must walk in repentance and faith, for “…where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (2 Cor 3:17.) When you read the whole Bible in the light of Holy Spirit, what is currently going on for Israel makes sense. The only revolution for truly saving the world will come when Jesus Christ, Prince of life, returns soon to Jerusalem.
